Maria began her legal career at the prestigious Manhattan District Attorney's Office in New York City.  Under District Attorney Morgenthau Maria prosecuted a wide array of complex criminal cases, ranging from violent felonies to narcotics sales.  While there she also prosecuted welfare fraud cases.  Maria moved to Maine in 2003 and joined Maine's Health Care Crimes Unit in the Office of the Attorney General.  As an AAG she was responsible for criminal prosecutions of those health care providers who were injuring Maine patients and taxpayers.  Following that, Maria spent five years as a civil litigator in the child support division of the Office of the Attorney General.  Ms. Woodman is licensed to practice in both Maine and New York.
